Highland County Senior Citizens Center celebrates 55th Anniversary with ribbon cutting and celebration
June 11, 2025 (Hillsboro, OH) – The Highland County Senior Citizens Center, located in Hillsboro, celebrated their 55 years of operation with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with members, friends, and the community on June 10, 2025. The Highland County Senior Citizens Center is located at 185 Muntz Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
The Highland County Senior Citizens Center has proudly served the community for 55 years, offering a welcoming space where older adults can stay active, engaged, and connected. Dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, the Center provides a wide variety of programs and services that promote wellness, independence, and social connection. From daily lunches and fitness classes to educational workshops and health screenings, the Center supports the needs of Highland County’s aging population with compassion and purpose. The Center attributes much of their success to the late Dr. James Bodenhamer and the late Rosalie Morgan, both of whom were mentioned during the ceremony for their contributions to the organization. Morgan’s family was in attendance and cut the ribbon to celebrate the occasion.
Beyond its programming, the Senior Center serves as a vibrant hub of activity and fellowship. Members enjoy regular events such as bingo, dances, chair volleyball, crafts, live entertainment, and seasonal celebrations that bring the community together. Whether seniors are looking for a place to make friends, pursue hobbies, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation, the Highland County Senior Citizens Center remains a cherished resource—and its 55th anniversary ribbon cutting is a well-deserved celebration of its continued impact.
