Marvin the Moose
Marvin the Moose
Highland County consists of 17 townships, all playing a pivotal role in making our community great and a place where people can create a business and have a family. One way the Chamber has advocated for supporting local is by creating a Support Local Campaign that revolves around a central character who throughout November and December visits local businesses, Marvin the Moose.
The Start of Marvin the Moose
Where did Marvin the Moose come from? Why a Moose? The Chamber had a desire to do more for the small businesses in the community during the Small Business Season. We saw a campaign that another Chamber did with passing around a pumpkin, and the ideas began to roll. The question everyone wants to know the answer to is, why a moose? The real question is, why not a moose? Each year, the Chamber tries to draw attention to local businesses by innovating new ways Marvin can be incorporated, whether it’s participating in First Friday, visiting your business, or randomly appearing at events throughout the year. Marvin is more than a moose. His hoof prints are always aimed at leading people to you, your business, and the community. WE make Highland County great, and Marvin is just a way of saying that every business is important, unique, and adds value to the community.
Enhanced Community Engagement
Supporting local causes a ripple effect that cannot go unnoticed. The local business owners in our community are often those who give more to the community through a variety of ways, from sponsoring events to giving to charitable organizations. The Chamber stands behind Cooperation Over Competition because all businesses in the community aid in its greatness. Marvin demonstrates this through journeying to various businesses throughout the county.
